		<description><![CDATA[The best book I read in 2011 was Nelson Mandela&#039;s bio, by Anthony Sampson (1999) updated by John Battersby (2011). Not only was it well written and documented, but the subject matter was touching.

I don&#039;t like to idolise a mortal man, but I &lt;em&gt;do&lt;/em&gt; admire how readily he forgives his jailers and persecutors. He&#039;s proof that forgiveness and conciliation works better than enmity to create a stable society.]]></description>
